Vegetable Dye Water Colors

| "This Moroccan artist works in a traditional painting
method using pure
vegetable pigments and sunlight to create his images.
His studio is in
a ksar , a group of earthen buildings forming a pre-Saharan fortified
village in southern Morocco. We wanted to emphasize
the ephemeral
quality of these images by floating them in a frame
which respected and referenced the tactile and tonal
qualities of the original landscape,
as well as the process by which they were created."
